Middle School Fair – Important Links

After much consideration, the LISEF Board of Trustees has decided to host the 2022 Broadcom MASTERS Middle School Fair as an IN-PERSON EVENT, but will decrease the project limit to 5 projects per school. We believe this is the best decision for the health and safety of our students and teachers during this unprecedented school year. Please check back for more information in October 2021.

Science Fair Project Ideas – How to get started

  1. Read! Look for a science article based on your interest. Science News for Kids is a very helpful resource.  You can search by topic or look at recent news articles. Also, be sure to search the “article archive” by subject to help you find some interesting science “news”.  Google and online database searches are also helpful. Try an EPNET search: http://search.ebscohost.com/. [Ask your school librarian for the username and password] Click on: Primary Search via EBSCOhost Web. Type in science topic.  Look for articles from – Current Science, Science World, Science News, and Scientific American.
  2. Search a website designed to help you generate science fair project ideas: All Science Fair Projects –  http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/index.php is very helpful. Here you can search by keyword(s) or browse the numerous science topics. They even have a Mad Scientist forum where you can post questions and ask for help with your project ideas. Another good website is Science Buddies – http://sciencebuddies.org/. This site lists over 900 project ideas to choose from. The best feature is the Topic Selection Wizard which will walk you through a series of questions and recommend a science fair project idea that is just right for you.
