Welcome to LISEF     Welcome to the Charles Duggan Long Island Science and Engineering Fair! Charles Duggan pioneered the idea of Independent Research programs on Long Island and held the first Long Island Science and Engineering Fair in 1986. Mr. Duggan served as the first President of LISEF, Inc.   THE INITIAL PORTION OF THE LISEF board meetings are open to the public, and interested parties are always encouraged to attend. For meeting dates, times, and locations,           EXTREMELY IMPORTANT               LISEF     Due to the registration of a small number of projects in the categories of EE and MA this year, the LISEF Trustees have voted that the projects registered in these categories will only be judged at Round 2. However, since these projects did not undergo a first round of judging to advance to round 2, the students in these categories are not guaranteed to win any awards at Round 2. The projects in these categories will compete for a First Place award and one Honorable Mention award. The liaison is responsible for bringing the paperwork and Media Release forms for these projects to Round 1. If any of these projects did not submit a complete abstract or a complete research plan during online registration, the penalties that apply this year will be taken at Round 2 for EE and MA, whereas all other categories will lose the penalty points at Round 1. 2012 LISEF Table Assignments are now available:  Important Date: Thursday, March 8, 2012 – On this date, the LISEF SRC/IRB committee will conduct interviews, for projects that have the potential to fail to qualify, between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM at Syosset High School. Keep this date/time open in the off-chance your project may be involved.
